Crossville Exhibits Eco-Friendly Tile Lines
Tennessee-based Crossville, Inc. announced at Greenbuild this week that the company is the first tile manufacturer in the US to achieve certification of its waste recycling programs through Scientific Certification Systems, or SCS. This certification is third-party verification of the fact that all tile produced by Crossville will contain a certain amount of recycled content, according to a company press release.
For example, Mixology, a wall tile that replicates cast metal, has 50% post-consumer recycled content. It comes in mosaics, seven field tile designs in two sizes, and 10 trim options with four available finishes.
Main Street has pre-consumer recycled-content ranging from four to 20% (depending on the color). The tile includes pre-consumer fired sanitary ware from Toto, a luxury plumbing products company. Also, Bluestone, which is enhanced with fossil-like impressions and the subtle pearlescence of embedded shells, contains a minimum of 20% pre-consumer recycled content.
The photos in this article show each product, Mixology, Main Street, and Bluestone. If you’re at Greenbuild, Crossville tiles will be available to view in booth #536N. Drop by the booth and come back to let us know what you think.
